Prior to joining the REACH Institute, Dr. Romanelli was an Assistant Professor at Columbia University, where in collaboration with Dr. Jensen, she directed a number of ground-breaking projects to improve children's mental health services in NY City and State. A cum laude graduate of Harvard University (1993) with psychology major, she received her doctorate in Psychology from Rutgers (l998), after which she completed post-doctoral clinical child psychology training at the Yale Child Study Center (l999). Dr. Romanelli implemented school-based social-emotional learning (SEL) programs, an area of expertise that she continues to apply within the REACH Institute's programs for training clinicians and educators.
In addition to her full-time executive directorship of the REACH Institute, Dr. Romanelli continues her academic and scholarly activities at Columbia University. Dr. Romanelli is a licensed clinical psychologist, and an expert trainer/teacher of therapists and clinicians who want to learn how to apply the latest scientific methods to assist children.
