EMOTIONAL DISORDERS IN CHILDREN
Emotional disorders in children are very common. It is estimated that one in every five children or adolescents may have an emotional or mental health disorder that requires identification and treatment, so if that is the case with your child, you are not alone. There is help available for your child or adolescent, and there is help for you, their parents.
THE REACH Institute
The REACH Institute (The Resource for Advancing Children’s Health) envisions a future in which emotional disorders in children are not regarded as stumbling blocks, but as conditions that are easily treated.
MENTAL HEALTH TRAINING COURSES
At the REACH Institute we believe that child and adolescent evidence based mental health training courses for clinicians can enable them to help children struggling with emotional, behavioral, or mental health disorders not only adapt, but go on to live healthy, productive, "normal" lives. Whether it is pediatricians, family doctors, nurses, therapists, social workers, school counselors, psychologists, psychiatrists, or child psychiatrists, we provide training courses to help them work more effectively with your child, by offering them medical professional education courses in using the very best of mental health screening, diagnosis, psychotherapy, and medication treatments (pharmacology). According to the Institute of Medicine, it takes 17 years before new, proven effective treatments are delivered to children and families in their communities. But no child should have to wait 17 years - the complete lifetime of childhood - before they are offered effective mental health treatments.
