Project Description
This NIMH-funded (1R01MH067100-01A1) project aims to test a behavioral intervention designed to change the prescribing practices of physicians who treat aggressive children/adolescents in in-patient or day treatment psychiatric settings. Specifically, the Basic Behavioral/Cognitive Sciences-based intervention seeks to increase adherence to the Treatment Recommendations for the Use of Antipsychotics for Aggressive Youth (TRAAY), a suite of Clinical Practice Guidelines composed at an earlier stage of the Medication Best Practices Project.
Recruitment efforts for this project are ongoing. Recruitment is now complete. The project will study ~70 physicians serving approximately 3100 children/year across a total of over 30 New York State Office of Mental Health, New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation, Connecticut Dept. of Children and Families, and private child and adolescent Psychiatric facilities around the Northeast.
